Building an economy that works within the planetary boundaries, that’s what Planet A is all about. These boundaries are clearly defined and quantified. We just need to listen to #science.

🌍 Scientists have defined nine planetary boundaries within #humanity can continue to develop and thrive for generations to come. They keep our #planet in balance. Crossing them increases the risk of generating large-scale abrupt or irreversible #environmental changes. 

‼️ Six of the nine boundaries have been transgressed: #climatechange, biosphere integrity, biogeochemical flows (nitrogen and phosphorous pollution), land-system change, freshwater supply (green water), and novel entities (pollution by synthetic substances). It’s another urgent call to action.

🔎 We have to look beyond carbon to operate within the space the boundaries define. At Planet A, we use life cycle assessments to work towards that goal, assessing the impact of a product or technology not only in #climate mitigation but also in waste prevention, resource efficiency and #biodiversity protection.
