The #DigitalTransport and #Logistics Forum (DTLF), a group of #experts selected by the #EC, is playing an important role in drawing up proposed EU Regulation on electronic freight transport information (eFTI Reg EU 2020/1056).

The DTLF was established to help facilitate #cooperation between supply chain actors, allowing better visibility and real-time #management of cargo flows, reducing the administrative burden, and enabling the better use of infrastructures and #resources.

Given the tight timeline, the need to harmonise #rules and standards for fully digitalized paperless #transport, and the necessity of a common framework for information sharing in multimodal transport and #logisticschains, the 6th DTLF plenary held this week summarised the status of work already done and the work planned for completion in the coming months.

The DTLF’s overall objective is full-scale #digitalinteroperability and #datacentreexchange in a shared, secured, and trusted transport and logistics dataspace. The work is organized into 3 subgroups. The DTLF continues to discuss and build consensus on the necessary technical, organizational, and legal principles for the Europe-wide implementation and functioning of the eFTI Reg by mid-2024.

𝗦𝘂𝗯𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽 𝟭 / 𝗣𝗮𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁:
–#Data: definition of the common #eFTI #dataset and eFTI data subsets, in line with the information requirements established in the #EU and national #legalacts.
-Functional: common rules and procedures for authorities to access and process the eFTI data, the eFTI platforms on which the economic operators will make the information available to the authorities, and the eFTI #serviceproviders.
-Technical: functional and technical architecture of the future eFTI environment.
-Implementation and Certification: rules for certification of the eFTI platforms and eFTI service providers.

𝗦𝘂𝗯𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽 𝟮 / 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗼𝗿 𝗙𝗿𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺:
-Plug and Play: concepts and procedures that allow individual #stakeholders to connect and share data according #commonagreements.
-Technology Independent Services: technology independent platform services supporting common processes, #business interoperability and compliance of business with legislation.
-Federation of Platforms: to create (technical, functional, and business model) interoperability between different platforms.
-Trusted, Safe and Secure: neutral #governancestructure ensuring trust, safety, and #security for data sharing via multiple providers of platform services, including peer-to-peer solutions.
