What is the world coming to?
The Gorillas, the Getirs etc. promise delivery in 10 minutes for almost nothing and Amazon will be charging $9.95 PER DELIVERY!
The old Amazon Fresh membership was around $15 per month (+ Prime) with unlimited deliveries but now Amazon charges $9.95 per delivery? That adds up to having to pay a whopping $600+ a year for shopping online at Whole Foods Market. (A delivery per week)
The reasoning behind the price hike could be from a typical „Day Two“ company. Rising cost here and there and bla. bla. Who started the race towards the bottom? Wasn’t that Amazon and now they do a full 180° turn. Very consumer centric😩
Is there another reason behind this move? Or is the reason really the cost of home delivery of food i.e, the time slots, picking and so on?
I know of a lot of people who will be able to see brilliance in this move.
„Amazon is preparing a split“ (AWS, AMS, Amazon Logistics, Whole Foods)
„By making it so expensive, people cannot afford to shop elsewhere“
„Amazon knows their customers and the customers are prepared to pay a premium for being allowed to shop at Whole Foods“ (The wonders of AI)
To be honest, I am chocked by this move.
By the way.
The only way to get lower cost of time slot delivery of e-grocery is food capable parcel boxes like the ones from HomeValet, DynoSafe and SESAM GmbH. No time slots, 24/7 delivery possible and double if not triple the route productivity of today’s time slot delivery.
Optimized routing leads to less pollution, so it is the most sustainable delivery concept and do not forget that food capable boxes can do parcels as well.
The letterbox of the future will be a food capable parcel box!
