Cpost International N.V. launches First Postal Prosperity Zone (PPZ) in the Caribbean
PRESS RELEASE
Kingston, 17 July 2025
Cpost International N.V (Cpost), the Designated Operator (DO) of Curaçao, proudly announces the launch of the first-ever Postal Prosperity Zone (PPZ) project in the Caribbean, positioning Curaçao as a strategic gateway for cross-border ecommerce to and from the Americas and beyond.
Building on the successful PPZ pilot models in Morocco and Romania, Cpost is lever- aging the PPZ initiative to establish both itself and the wider region as a central hub for cross-border ecommerce logistics.
Cpost’s PPZ project was launched at the Small Island Developing States (SIDS) Postal Leaders forum, 17 July 2025, Kingston Jamaica, when logistic-natives e.V. (UPU CC member) and Cpost International N.V. signed the Project Management Office agreement marking the official start of the project. The project is supported by the Universal Postal Union (UPU), the UPU Consultative Committee (CC), local authorities and international business partners, including global marketplaces and the largest Asian logistics service providers and technology firms. It marks a major milestone in modernizing postal logistics, facilitating competitive customs clearance and increasing trade efficiency across the Caribbean. By offering access to the UPU’s globally interoperable IT infrastructure, the Cpost PPZ will provide efficient and effective cross-border ecommerce delivery services to both major international ecommerce platforms as well as local SMEs. Ideally located in the Caribbean, Curaçao’s PPZ Hub will position Cpost as a stopover point for cargo planes and offer warehousing facilities for major players including Asian and North American ecommerce volume facilitators.
