One year after the re-launch of the UPU Consultative Committee (UPU CC) as the body of the Union representing the Wider Postal Sector Players, its internal structure has been strengthened, allowing it to play a more active role in helping to shape the future of the postal sector.
Mr Karlsson of MAERSK and company 8 Degrees East have joined the UPU CC’s thematic chapter “Freight and Transport”. This chapter not only mirrors the work of the Postal Operations Council (POC) Committee 1, but now also has the capacity to directly contribute to improving the linking of postal and transport modes globally.
At the same time, German-based logistic-natives e.V., an international logistics and infrastructure network for modern commerce, has become a member of the newly established thematic chapter “Sustainability”. Its role is to advocate on behalf of the postal sector as a whole in its efforts to achieve emissions neutrality by 2050, as set out in the Paris agreement.
Congratulations to #SteveRemy#HowardBeasey#NicolasClerc co-founders /partners of 8 Degrees East and to #LarsKarlsson, Global Head of Trade and Customs Consulting at Maersk, for being elected joint UPU CC Rapporteurs for Freight & Transport chapter and to #SilviovonKrüchten from logistic-natives for being elected UPU CC Rapporteur for Sustainability chapter.
