The European Parliament adopted an Own Initiative Report on product safety and regulatory compliance in ecommerce and non-EU imports, originally drafted by MEP Salvatore De Meo.

The Report identifies ways to alleviate the pressure on customs and market surveillance authorities struggling to check and ensure the safety of the 12 million small ecommerce packages arriving in the EU every day.
