UPU’s transport solutions

UPU, together with Deutsche Post und DHL 🇩🇪and China Post Group Corp.🇨🇳, is testing a brand-new #railway routing to carry #mail, with an aim to explore alternative #transport solutions for Posts💡

The new routing from Germany to China combines rail transport with #maritime transport, whereby railway containers are loaded onto vessels to navigate through the Black Sea and Caspian Sea.

The second pilot container has just arrived at its destination in China, representing a breakthrough in the eastbound mail-by-rail activities. Having proven its viability despite operational complexities, the routing will be further improved and put into regular operation🚞
