Highlights of the week:
– By 2021, 49% of total global e-commerce spending was paid with digital or mobile wallets. (Worldpay)
– Incidentally, nearly half of U.S. citizens are interested in BNPL (Buy Now Pay Later) services. (The Ascent)
This last figure is indicative of a growing use and need. People no longer want to pay for a product they don’t have yet. And for brands, this requires them to build trust in their brand and product which requires a lot of investment and effort.
This is where BNPL comes in and solves, partially, the existing problems.
But do you think we can go even further? If, for example, you could pay only when you receive the package. A package that would be controlled by the seller, so that he can have the assurance of the follow-up of his goods. You would pay with your smartphone (already a widespread use, see first figure here) on the package. So no more stress of paying for a product that would not suit you or that would never arrive.
